We’re excited to share something truly groundbreaking. The ARCEX® System, named one of TIME Magazine’s Best Inventions of 2024, is the first non-invasive spinal cord stimulation therapy approved by the FDA. It’s already transforming lives across the country—and now, we want to bring it home to Moving With HOPE.

ARCEX uses gentle electrical pulses through the skin to stimulate the spinal cord, helping restore hand strength, sensation, and independence—especially in individuals with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, Parkinson’s, MS, and more.

Just a few weeks ago, we hosted an ARCEX demo at our Shelton clinic. One of our longtime clients, Paul, participated in a full session. Paul has been working hard in therapy for years, but after just one ARCEX session, something shifted. He stood taller. He felt stronger. His nerve pain decreased, and his mobility improved. His reaction? “I actually feel different. This is real.”

Stories like Paul’s are unfolding across the country. In fact, ARCEX recently changed the life of Jesse Owen, a C5 quadriplegic who became paralyzed after a car accident. Jesse was part of a national study using ARCEX, and over just a few months, she regained enough hand function to cook, dress herself, write, and even hug her children—something she never thought possible again.

Why It Matters Here in Connecticut

There are more than 1,800 people in Connecticut with cervical spinal cord injuries (C4–C7)—the exact population ARCEX was designed to serve. Thousands more in our region live with neurological conditions like MS, CP, or Parkinson’s that may benefit from ARCEX, too.

In New Haven County, Fairfield County, and the Lower Naugatuck Valley, there’s currently nothing else like this. Once ARCEX’s home version is released in 2025, patients will need to connect with certified clinics for training and monitoring. We want to be that clinic.
